AFC North Notes: Bengals, Browns, Steelers

Bengals

Browns

Former Browns RB Isaiah Crowell says he never knew what his role was going to be while in Cleveland.

You just never knew,” Crowell told the New York Post. “Sometimes it was [an every-down situation], sometimes it wasn’t. You just never knew week in and week out. I felt like that was discouraging and annoying.

Crowell started the past 32 games for the Browns, during which they posted a record of 1-31.

“It wasn’t a good feeling. Nobody likes to lose,” Crowell said. “I’m a sore loser. I do whatever I can to win. It wasn’t a good feeling.”

Steelers

Steelers WR Justin Hunter is hoping to capitalize on the opportunity available now that Martavis Bryant‘s role is up for grabs.

“Like Coach T [Mike Tomlin] says, somebody’s going to find a certain trait in you — as long as you’re good at that trait, you should be around a while,” Hunter said, via Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. “As long as I build off that, I’m trying to sustain it.”

Hunter admits he needs as many reps as possible to show what he can for the Steelers.

“I need every one of [these reps],” Hunter said. “It gives me another op to show what I’ve got against the first team. As long as I keep it consistently, I’ll be straight.”
