AFC North Notes: Browns, Ravens, Steelers

Browns

Browns QB Tyrod Taylor mentioned that he hopes the team can sign Dez Bryant to a contract during their scheduled meeting next week.

“That would be awesome,” Taylor said, via Cleveland.com. “I’ve said this before. We know what type of talent Dez brings to the football field. He’s been a very, very good player in his time throughout this league and he adds talent to the wide receiver room. . . . I hope it can get done, but like I said that’s up to management. I definitely think he could help this team.”

We have Bryant featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Ravens

Steelers

While the odds of securing a roster spot may not be in his favor, Steelers second-year QB Joshua Dobbs says he isn’t focused on the numbers game at his position.

“You can’t get into the numbers game,” Dobbs said, via Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “You just have to go out, make the most of your opportunities, lead the team down and drive the ball and score when you get the opportunity. That’s my goal.

“When I step on the field, I expect to score, whether or not there’s a quarterback competition going on. That’s how I play the game. We’re able to do that a lot [Thursday]. So I plan on doing that throughout the preseason when I get my opportunity.
