Steelers
Steelers LB Patrick Queen is excited to play his first regular season game at Acrisure Stadium after playing the first four years of his career with the Ravens. He recalled John Harbaugh getting them prepared for Pittsburgh to blast Renegade by Styx over the PA system to get the crowd hyped up.
โThe first two times I didnโt notice it,โ said Queen. โAnd then Harbs (John Harbaugh) said something about it in the meeting. I just remember he was like, โWe will be in a close game. The towels will be waving. We will feel it. Weโre going to make it our own song.โ So, I definitely didnโt notice the first few years until he said something about it. But once you realize what theyโre doing, itโs just an electric feeling. Iโm ready to hear Renegade in the fourth quarter. Thatโs what Iโve been waiting on. I just canโt wait to get in front of fans and just play our hearts out, play as fast as we can. Give the fans the best game we can and get a win.โ
Queen said their defense wonโt get complacent now that they have the NFLโs fifth-ranked defense through two games.
โWe donโt seek complacency,โ said Queen. โWe just got to go out there and keep doing what weโve got to do, keep building, keep getting better day by day. Thatโs something Iโve been saying. Every day weโve got to come out here and grind and get better. Gel with each other even more because we know the games get tougher as they go.โ
As for going up against Baltimore, Queen points out he practiced against current Chargers and former Ravens OC Greg Romanโs offense every day.
โI faced (Romanโs offense) for three years every day in practice,โ said Queen. โSmashmouth football. January-type football home. Heโs going to try to see if he can test your will. And thatโs what weโve got to go out there and try to stop. So, itโs going to be smashmouth football, itโs going to be your man versus our man. I canโt wait.โ
