AFC Notes: Bengals, Steelers, Titans

  • Steelers announced that they hosted Toledo WR/KR Diontae Johnson for a pre-draft visit on Friday.

  • Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ official site believes the team will focus on drafting defensive linemen in this year’s draft.
  • Regarding the possibility of Tennessee pursuing free agent DL Ndamukong Suh, Wyatt says he wouldn’t get his hopes up and adds“that ship has sailed.”
  • Wyatt believes Mississippi State DT Jeffery Simmons (ACL) could be “in play” at No. 19 overall, but he can’t see Simmons dropping to them in the second round.
  • As for a potential contract extension for Titans QB Marcus Mariota, Wyatt writes that Mariota still needs to prove he can stay healthy before the team commits a big-money deal to the former first-round pick.
  • Wyatt expects the Titans to draft a receiver at some point in the 2019 NFL Draft but isn’t sure what round they’ll look to do so.
  • Georgia Tech DE Anree Saint-Amour had a private workout for the Titans on Thursday. (Aaron Wilson)
