AFC Notes: Bills, Broncos, Ravens

Bills

Bills owner Kim Pegula said that she does not know if the team will be able to build a new stadium in Buffalo given they do not want to charge higher ticket prices and are not receiving public money.

I don’t even know if we can get there,” said Pegula, via Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News. “I know fans in Buffalo don’t want higher ticket prices, they don’t want PSLs (personal seat licenses). The state doesn’t want to give you any money, the city doesn’t … We don’t have a billion-and-a-half dollars sitting around. We used it to buy the team.

Pegula added that she is unsure of what the team will do when the Bills’ lease on their stadium expires in 2023.

We don’t know what the decision is going to be at the end of the day, but if we don’t start the work and get the information, we can’t even get there to make a decision,” Pegula said. “I’m guessing it’s going to take a couple of years. I know that, at the end of the day, what we want to do is we want to make sure we have all our information, go through the whole planning process so then we can say, ‘Listen, this is what it’s going to require. Either we can get there (or not).’ The state or the county, no one’s going to like give you anything until you give them a reason (as) to why.”

Broncos

Ravens

Ravens QB Joe Flacco told reporters that he isn’t thinking about what the team’s decision to take Lamar Jackson in round one means for his future in Baltimore.

When you pick a quarterback or anybody in the first round, it means something,” Flacco said, via ESPN.com. “I don’t know what that means. I don’t know exactly what it is. But that’s not my job to worry about what it is. My job is to keep my approach exactly what it’s been for the last 10 years and help our team go win football games.”

Flacco says he’s welcomed Jackson “with open arms” and there isn’t any issue between the two.

“I think it’s unfortunate that … everybody wants to act like I’m holding some grudge,” Flacco said. “That’s not how it is. You guys have been around me for a long time and you know how I am. We welcome Lamar here with open arms. That’s the same for me.
