Bills
A Bills veteran tells Albert Breer the new offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn has really just simplified the same offense they were running under Greg Roman before he was fired a few weeks ago.
โThe changes arenโt super simple,โ said the veteran said. โWeโre running the same plays that we did under G-Ro. Itโs just that with Roman, we had a huge playbook and we could run absolutely anything from week-to-week. Anthonyโs all about matchupsโฆ He played [in the NFL], so he knows matchups are huge.โ
Buffalo’s offense has really made some strides in recent weeks and has helped them rattle off three straight wins.
Browns
- According to Albert Breer of the TheMMQB.com, Browns rookie QB Cody Kessler has a “very strong case” to keep the starting job for the remainder of the season, even when Josh McCown and Robert Griffin III are healthy enough to return.
Ravens
- According to Albert Breer, the Ravens elected to hire Marc Trestman as their offensive coordinator a few years ago because he was able to convince HC John Harbaugh that he could run a reasonable facsimile of Gary Kubiak‘s offensive.
- However, the difference between the two ultimately came down to the fact that Kubiak’s offense is grounded in the running game while Trestman’s is more in line with the passing attack.
- The Ravens ultimately pulled the plug on Trestman after a disappointing Week 5 loss to the Redskins.
Steelers
- Aaron Wilson reports that the Steelers hosted free agent G Austin Shepherdย for a visit.
