AFC Notes: Bills, Colts, Dolphins, Titans

Bills

Bills HC Sean McDermott explained that LT Cordy Glenn is dealing with some soreness left foot and surgery has not been ruled out after he sought a second opinion from specialist Dr. Bob Anderson.

He’s got some soreness,” McDermott said Friday, via Mike Rodak of ESPN. “We got a plan going forward at this point. We’re just going to take it day to day at this point.”

Colts

Colts HC Chuck Pagano offered some strong praise for rookie RB Marlon Mack on Friday.

“He jumps off the tape,” Pagano said, via Pro Football Talk. “He’s popping out here. He’s a talented guy. He’s got great athleticism. He’s showing great vision out there. We’re doing one-on-one pass protection drills against the linebackers and he’s physical. He’s got toughness. He’s not afraid to stick his face in there and pick up blitzers and then he’s a weapon out of the backfield on third down. He’s got a ways to go, like everybody else, but he’s picking things up. If he can master all three phases of being a good running back, he’s going to be a special player I think.

Dolphins

Jeff Darlington reports that the Dolphins are still determining Ryan Tannehill’s situation, but Jay Cutler remains a top target in the case Tannehill ends up undergoing surgery.

Darlington admits that this is still a “very fluid” situation, but Cutler remains openminded during dialogue with the team. As of now, Cutler hasn’t informed Miami of any decisions and the Dolphins have yet to make him a formal offer.

According to Darlington, Cutler will have plenty to weigh and could ultimately decide he’s not interested in returning to the NFL it even w/o offer. However, Darlington doesn’t get the sense that has happened yet.

  • The Miami Dolphins announced that they’ve placed OT Terry Poole on waivers Saturday.

Titans

Titans HC Mike Mularkey referred to first-round WR Corey Davis as being “week to week” with an ankle injury.

Obviously I was bummed, because I can’t practice the next few days,” Davis said, via TitansOnline.com. “I am a competitor, and I want to be out there and practice and play. But we are just taking it slow at this point. . . . I got real emotional about it [when it first happened]. I am a competitor and I want to be out there and do what I can to help out this great team. But I guess that is just not in God’s plans. I am just going to take it slow and take it week by week.”
