AFC Notes: Browns, Dolphins, Titans

Browns

Browns RBs coach Kirby Wilson believes RB Isaiah Crowell has “only scratched the surface” of his potential and is looking forward to him taking another step this season.

That’s very accurate that he [only] scratched the surface,” Wilson said, via Nate Ulrich of the Beacon Journal. “He’s not even in his prime yet. He has to continue to work hard. He saw what happens from last year — when you work extremely hard, good things happen for you. I think he enjoyed that limited success, and he’s hungry and eager and looking for even more this season.”

Wilson added that the team also expects “big things” from RB Duke Johnson in 2017.

He’s hungry,” Wilson said. “He’s very knowledgeable. He’s a great worker. He’s committed to being the best that he can be. He’s one of our better leaders and one of our better playmakers. So we expect big things from him starting in training camp.”

Dolphins

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill said his year of experience with HC Adam Gase has helped to slow the game down for him and allowed them to build a stronger rapport.

I think throughout last year and throughout this offseason, we’ve kind of fallen into a groove with each other of understanding what he’s trying to get out of certain things,” Tannehill said, via Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. “He knows what I want to do on certain plays. He knows how I like to run certain things. That makes the game happen a lot faster. It makes it slow down. It makes it easy for me to just go out and let it rip because I’m not trying to decipher what we’re trying to do. We have the reps together. And now it’s just a matter of making it happen.”

Titans

  • Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline runs down six things that have stood out during the Titans’ minicamp.
  • According to Wyatt, QB Marcus Mariota (fibula) looks like a “different player” from the guy he was during OTAs back in May.
  • Wyatt says that first-round WR Corey Davis has “looked the part” since the day he arrived in Tennessee, and even took things to another level this past week.
  • Titans HC Mike Mularkey expects OLB Kevin Dodd to be recovered from his second foot surgery in time for training camp.
