AFC South Notes: Colts, Jaguars, Texans, Titans

Colts

  • According to ESPN’s Mike Wells, Colts LB Darius Leonard remains in the concussion protocol and could miss Sunday’s game against the Falcons.
  • Colts RB Marlon Mack (calf) also missed practice again, though his prognosis for Week 3 is better. (George Bremer)

Jaguars

Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey explained what led to him requesting a trade earlier this week during an interview with Uninterrupted.

“Some disrespectful things were said on their end that made me definitely walk out and call my agent as soon as I walked out, and I told him, I said, ‘It’s time; my time is up here in Jacksonville. I want to ask for a trade,’” Ramsey said. “I was truly at peace. I wasn’t in a mindset of making a decision while I was angry; I was completely calm. I still stand by my decision to ask for a trade.”

“Requesting the trade was something that’s been building over a little bit of time,” Ramsey said. “It has nothing to do with my teammates here — I love my teammates here. It has nothing to do with the city — I love the city here. Still doing my charity work here, still out with the fans, signing autographs, taking pictures, whatever. I love the city here, I love my teammates, but it’s more so with the front office and the organization.

  • According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Jaguars CB A.J. Bouye is listed as questionable but has a good shot to play Thursday night against the Titans.
  • Jaguars owner Shad Khan said that while it hurt to lose prized free-agent acquisition QB Nick Foles, the team still had games to play: “This is the NFL. You expect the unexpected. Nobody is going to feel sorry for you. You have to get up, dust yourself off (and) get ready.” (Phillip Heilman)
  • Khan added regarding star CB Jalen Ramsey‘s request for a trade that he would do what’s best for the team: “This is a team sport. I’m very sensitive to individual needs, but we have to do the right thing for the team.” (Heilman)

Texans

  • Redskins CB Aaron Colvin‘s one-year deal is worth $757,647, which means the Texans will get that amount offset from the $7.5 million they still owed Colvin when they released him. (Aaron Wilson)

Titans

  • ESPN’s Dianna Russini reports the Titans were interested in Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey, but the price was too high for them.
  • Russini adds that’s been the case for most of the teams who have inquired with Jacksonville regarding Ramsey.
