AFC West Notes: Chargers, Chiefs, Raiders

Chargers

  • Jay Glazer mentions the Chargers and Raiders as the two teams he believes would make the most sense for Tom Brady if he’s not back with the Patriots in 2020.
  • According to Matt Miller of B/R, word at the Senior Bowl is that the Chargers like Utah State QB Jordan Love.
  • Miller admits that No. 6 overall could be too early to select Love, but he’s at least someone to keep an eye on as a draft riser.
  • Field Yates reports that the Panthers are expected to hire Chargers OL/run game coordinator Pat Meyer

Chiefs

After being waived by the Cardinals, veteran OLB Terrell Suggs made it known that he could retire if he wasn’t claimed by the Ravens.

However, Suggs admitted that it didn’t take a lot of convincing for him to ultimately join the Cheifs.

“It didn’t take much convincing,” Suggs said, via Dave Skretta of the Associated Press. “This team is pretty vet-savvy. Having been in this position a few times, you learn more from failure than you ever would from success. I think that the things that have happened in years past kind of prepared this team for the task that it took. It also doesn’t hurt to have the reigning MVP, and definitely the best tight end in the game, on your team. Once they got rolling and clicking on all cylinders, we got to have fun out there.”
