Aldon Smith Arrested Again, This Time For Violating Condition Of Bail

According to TMZ Sports, former 49ers and Raiders OLB Aldon Smith has once again been arrested. This time for violating a condition of his bail.

Last Thursday, Smith was in court for allegedly violating a protective order after his arrest for domestic violence. The judge ordered Smith to wear a GPS and a SCRAM device that measure the amount of alcohol in your sweat.

Smith’s latest arrest came for violating a condition of his electronic monitoring.

To make matters worse for Smith, his fiance Shawna McKnight issued a statement that they’re no longer together.

“Unfortunately through these circumstances Aldon and I are no longer together.”

“Although it’s with a heavy heart I truly wish him the best and pray he gets the help he needs. I will always have love for him but at this point I’m simply the victim in this ongoing case.

Smith’s was booked into the San Francisco County Jail around 5 PM Friday night and is being held on $500,000 bond. He’s due back in court April 11th.

This is the fourth arrest for Smith in the past few months.

The prior domestic violence incident involving Smith led to him facing charges of willful infliction of corporal injury, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment and vandalism, which happen to all be misdemeanors.

Smith checked himself into rehab shortly after the incident with the help of his fiancee’s parents, but was later arrested for violating a protective order stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident.

The Raiders announced his release from the reserve/retired list soon after.

Smith, 28, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2010. He was cut loose by the 49ers shortly after a DUI incident in 2015, even though San Francisco picked up his fifth-year option.

Smith later signed a one-year deal with the Raiders that was worth up to $8 million, which was largely incentive-based. Oakland elected to re-sign Smith to a two-year, $11.5 million contract in 2016.

The Raiders placed Smith on the reserve/suspended list a few years ago before cutting him loose last month

In 2015, Smith recorded 28 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and three pass defenses over the course of nine games.

Here’s hoping Smith gets the help he needs.
