ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Arizona Cardinals have traded RB Tim Hightower to the Washington Redskins in return for DE Vonnie Holliday and a conditional draft pick.
Hightower has been reasonably productive for the Cardinals but with the addition of newly drafted running back Ryan Williams, Hightower become expendable. The Redskins will most likely give him a shot at starting. Their backfield currently consists of Ryan Torrain, Roy Helu and now Hightower.
The Cardinals get a solid veteran defensive tackle in Vonnie Holliday who has been much more productive than one would assume given his age. Overall the deal isn’t spectacular but also is not a detriment to either team.
