Bears Also Fire OC Aaron Kromer

Field Yates of ESPN (via Jeff Dickerson) is reporting that the Chicago Bears have also fired OC Aaron Kromer on Monday.

The Bears also got rid of HC Marc Trestman as well as GM Phil Emery, so a full house cleaning is underway in Chicago and it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that DC Mel Tucker is the next to go.

Kromer was hired as the team’s offensive coordinator last year after he spent a number of years with the New Orleans Saints.

Kromer will most likely be remembered for being the source of Ian Rapoport‘s report that the Bears were having a “serious case of buyer’s remorse” over the contract they signed QB Jay Cutler to last year.

He wound up apologizing to the team and to Cutler for his remarks, but it was a surprising situation to see a struggling team deal with during the season.

It will be interesting to see what opportunities he has in the coming weeks.
