Bears Cut TE Bradley Sowell, Promote DL Abdullah Anderson

The Chicago Bears announced Monday that they’ve waived TE Bradley Sowell and promoted DT Abdullah Anderson to their active roster.

Sowell, 30, wound up signing on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in 2012. He lasted just a year in Tampa Bay before he was later signed off of their practice squad by the Colts.

Sowell had short stints with the Cardinals and Seahawks before he signed a one-year contract with the Bears in 2017. He returned to Chicago the following year on a two-year deal.

In 2019, Sowell has appeared in two games for the Bears, but has yet to record a statistic.
