Bears Designate DL Akiem Hicks To Return From Injured Reserve

The Chicago Bears have officially designated DL Akiem Hicks as one of their two players to return from injured reserve.

This officially opens a three-week window of time for Hicks to practice with the team before Chicago will need to add him to their active roster.

The Bears placed Hicks on injured reserve last month with an elbow injury.

Hicks, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Saints back in 2012. He was traded to the Patriots back in 2015.

After playing out his rookie contract, Hicks signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Bears. Chicago later agreed to a four-year, $48 million extension that included $30 million guaranteed in 2017.

In 2019, Hicks has appeared in four games for the Bears and recorded six tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery.
