Bears Fear LB Roquan Smith Has Season-Ending Pectoral Tear

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bears fear LB Roquan Smith suffered a torn pectoral during Thursday’s game.

Should an MRI confirms their fears, Smith would miss the remainder of the 2019 season and be placed on injured reserve.

Smith, 22, was taken with the No. 8 overall pick out of Georgia by the Bears in 2018. He signed a $18,547,606 contract that includes an $11,569,168 signing bonus.

The contract also includes a fifth-year option for the Bears to pick up in 2021.

12 games and recorded 101 tackles, two sacks, an interception and two pass defenses.

We’ll have more on Smith as the news is available.
