Bears Place K Robbie Gould On IR, Sign Olindo Mare

The Chicago Bears were forced to place K Robbie Gould on season-ending IR after he suffered a calf injury during warmups on Sunday. The team signed K Olindo Mare to take his place after they held a tryout on Tuesday that also involved Neil Rackers and Billy Cundiff.

Gould is still under contract for another season, and given that the injury isn’t any things major, he figures to be in line for a contract extension at some point in the next year or so. The Bears will have to hope that Mare is able to step in and perform for them down the stretch.
