Bears Place WR Brandon Marshall On I.R. & Promote Josh Bellamy

The Chicago Bears announced Monday that they have placed WR Brandon Marshall on season-ending injured reserve less than a week after he suffered two broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported over the weekend that Marshall was done for the season, so this news comes as no surprise, especially with Chicago being eliminated from the post season.

Marshall, 30, is in the first year of his four-year, $39.3 million contract that included $22.3 million guaranteed. He has base salaries of $7.5 million (2015), $7.9 million (2016), and $8.3 million (2017) coming his way over the remainder of the agreement.

His 2014 season comes to an end with him catching 61 passes for 721 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.
