Bears Placing CB Bryce Callahan On Injured Reserve

Bears HC Matt Nagy announced Wednesday that they’re placing CB Bryce Callahan on injured reserve with a broken foot, per Adam Jahns.

Callahan, 27, wound up signing on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Rice back in 2015. He was waived a few weeks into his rookie season and later signed him to the team’s practice squad before later being called up.

The Bears re-signed him on a one-year deal restricted deal this past April and he’s in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2018, Callahan has appeared in 13 games for the Bears and recorded 45 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 11 cornerback out of 113 qualifying players.
