Bears QB Mitch Trubisky Out With Left Shoulder Injury

Bears QB Mitch Trubisky was taken to the locker room during the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Vikings with a shoulder injury and has already been ruled out for the game.

Trubisky has been replaced by veteran QB Chase Daniel

Based on video of the play, David Chao believes Trubisky has a “significant” left shoulder injury. Chao adds that Trubisky is destined for surgery but because it’s to his non-throwing shoulder, he could try to return after a few weeks.

Trubisky, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Bears back in 2017. He’s in the third year of his four-year, $29 million contract that included a $19.17 million signing bonus and set to make base salaries of $152,156 and $2.21 million over the next two years.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Bears to pick up in 2020.

Entering today’s game, Trubisky had appeared in three games for the Bears and completed 65 percent of his passes for 579 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding Trubisky as the news is available.
