Bears Sign TE Zach Miller To A One-Year Extension

The Chicago Bears announced that they’ve signed veteran TE Zach Miller to a one-year contract extension on Friday.

There are two tight ends in the NFL that go by the name of Zach Miller, so don’t confuse this with the guy who currently plays for the Seahawks.

Miller, 30, is a former sixth round pick of the Jaguars back in 2009. He spent a little over three years in Jacksonville before joining the Buccaneers and eventually ending up with the Bears as a future/reserve signing a few months ago.

He hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2011 when he was still with the Jaguars, so it seems very likely that he’ll have to compete for a roster spot in training camp.
