Bears WR Domenik Hixon Tears ACL, Indicates He’ll Retire

Bears WR Domenik Hixon announced via his Facebook account that he suffered a third torn ACL on Tuesday.

  • Hixon also indicated that he will retire from the NFL after eight seasons in the league.

Chicago signed Hixon to a one-year deal back at the start of free agency in March. He had an opportunity to compete for the team’s No. 5 receiver position in training camp, but it sounds like he won’t ever take the field for the Bears.

Hixon, 29, spent his first five seasons with the Giants before joining the Panthers last season. He appeared in 15 games and caught seven passes for 55 yards and a touchdown in 2013.
