Bengals DT D.J. Reader Likely Out For Season With Quad Injury

Bengals DT D.J. Reader was carted off during the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Ravens with an injury.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Reader suffered a quad injury that’s likely to end his 2020 season.

Reader will undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the extent of his injury, but the team is reportedly bracing for the worst.

Reader, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Texans back in 2016. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.55 million contract with the Texans.

The Bengals signed Reader to a four-year, $53 million deal this past March.

In 2020, Reader has appeared in five games for the Bengals and recorded 18 tackles, no sacks and a pass defense.

We’ll have more regarding Reader as the news is available.
