Bengals DT Josh Tupou & OT Isaiah Prince Opting Out Of 2020 Season

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that Bengals DT Josh Tupou has informed the team he plans to opt-out of the 2020 season. Pelissero says no roster move is official yet, but it’s expected.

Cincinnati announced that OT Isaiah Prince has been placed on the reserve/opt-out list.

The Bengals have Geno Atkins and D.J. Reader as their top-two defensive tackles, so this leaves them limited depth.

Tupou, 25, wound up signing on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado back in 2017. He was on and off of their roster during his rookie season, but managed to make the 53-man roster in 2018.

Tupou re-signed with Cincinnati on a one-year deal for 2019 and returned to Cincinnati on a one-year restricted tender worth $2.133 million this offseason.

In 2019, Tupou appeared in all 16 games and recorded 27 total tackles, no sacks and one forced fumble.
