Bengals Have “No Intention” Of Trading No. 1 Pick

Adam Schefter of ESPN, citing league sources familiar with the situation, reports that the Bengals have “no intention” of trading the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.

Schefter says the Bengals plan to stay where they are in the draft and presumably use the pick on a quarterback.

The expectation has been for some time that the Bengals will draft LSU QB Joe Burrow and Schefter mentions that the opinion of many around the league is that they can’t pass on the Heisman Trophy winner.

There has been some speculation about teams such as the Dolphins and Panthers possibly trading up for a quarterback, but it would be really tough to pass on Burrow.

Andy Dalton will likely be made available for trade in the coming months now that Cincinnati is positioned to move in a different at quarterback.

We’ll have more regarding the Bengals as the news is available.
