Bengals Place 2nd-Rd RFA Tender On OL Trey Hopkins, Tender Four ERFAs

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Friday that they’ve tendered contracts to five players including RFA OL Trey Hopkins, who receives a second-round tender.

The Bengals also tendered contracts to exclusive rights free agents including CB Tony McRae, OL Alex Redmond, DT Josh Tupou and DB Brandon Wilson.

The second-round tender will cost them $3.095 million for the 2019 season and ensure that they receive a second-round pick for him if they decline to match an offer he receives from another team.

Hopkins, 26, wound up signing on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in 2014. He was on and off of their practice squad over the first three years in Cincinnati but has managed to make their 53-man roster each of the last two years.

In 201, Hopkins appeared in all 16 games for the Bengals and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 21 center out of 38 qualifying players.
