Bengals Place CB Adam Jones On IR, Promote DB Tony McRae

The Cincinnati Bengals announced that they have placed CB Adam Jones on injured reserve and signed DB Tony McRae from the practice squad to their active roster.

Jones, 34, is a former first-round pick by the Titans in the 2005 NFL Draft. He was in Tennessee for two years before serving a year-long suspension in 2007 for violating personal conduct policy. Jones later signed with the Cowboys for one season before landing a three-year deal with the Bengals.

Jones is in the second year of a three-year, $22 million contract that included $6 million guaranteed. He is set to earn a base salary of $6.3 million this season.

In 2017, Jones appeared in nine games for the Bengals and recorded 23 total tackles, one interception, four pass defenses, and one forced fumble. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 91 overall cornerback out of 115 qualifying players.
