The Cincinnati Bengals announced Wednesday that they’ve signed DT Andrew Brown to a futures contract for the 2019 season.
As of now, the Bengals have signed 7 players to futures deals including:
- TE Moritz Bohringer
- S Demetrious Cox
- C Brad Lundblade
- TE Andrew Vollert
- WR Kermit Whitfield
- K Tristan Vizcaino
- DT Andrew Brown
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Brown, 23, was selected in the fifth round of last year’s draft by the Bengals. He agreed to a four-year, $2,738,416 contract that included a $278,416 signing bonus with the Bengals, but wound up being among their roster cuts coming out of the preseason.
Brown later signed to the Bengals’ practice squad after clearing waivers.
During his college career at Virginia, Brown recorded 94 tackles, 26.5 tackles for a loss, 10.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery and four pass defenses over the course of four seasons and 34 games.
