Bengals Sign Veteran LB Karlos Dansby To A One-Year, $2M Deal

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that the Bengals have signed veteran LBย Karlos Dansby to a one-year deal worth $2 million, which includes a $700,000 signing bonus.

  • Dansby can earn an anotherย $250,000 by reaching incentives included in the contract, according to Pelissero.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bengals are, in fact, signing veteran LBย Karlos Dansby to a contract on Tuesday.

This comes shortly afterย Geoff Hobsonย reportedย that contract talks between the Bengals and Dansbyย wereย heating up and the two sides could be close to a deal.

The Bengals brought Dansby in a for a visit last week, which was his first reported meeting since he became available.

Dansby previously indicatedย that the Bengals could have interest.

Yeah, I think the Bengals are licking their chops right now,’‘ Dansby said, via Mary Kay Cabot. “I hope they are. We’ll see what it is.”

It’s worth mentioning that signing Dansby to a contract won’tย factor into the Bengals’ 2017 compensatory picks.

Dansby, 34, was in the third year of his four-year, $24 million contractย that includedย $12 million guaranteedย when he was released in a move that freedย up $3.5 million in available cap spaceย for the Cardinals.

In 2015, Dansby appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and recorded 109 tackles, three interceptions with two being returned for touchdowns, three forced fumbles and six pass defenses.
