Bengals Wanted To Interview Jeff Hafley For DC Job, But He Has No Plans To Leave Ohio State

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Bengals wanted to interview Ohio State DC Jeff Hafley for their defensive coordinator job, but he has no plans to back out of his commitment a month after accepting the job.

Hafley is just the latest coach to turn down the Bengals for their defensive coordinator job.

This has to be a concerning situation for the Bengals and new HC Zac Taylor.

On Thursday, the Saints blocked Cincinnati from interviewing secondary coach Aaron Glenn for the job.

The Bengals also showed interest in hiring a number of coaches but Jack Del Rio, Dom Capers and Todd Grantham have all passed on the job, according to reports.

Other names recently linked to the Bengals include Rams DBs coach Aubrey Pleasant, Falcons DC Marquand Manuel, and Texas A&M DC Mike Elko

We’ll have more regarding the Bengals’ defensive coordinator search as the news is available.
