The Buffalo Bills announced that they have claimed C Jared Wheeler off of waivers from the Panthers Thursday.
- The Bills waived CB Brandon Smith in a corresponding roster move.
Wheeler signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Miami (FL) earlier this year. The Panthers placed him on waivers Wednesday.
He was named the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame’s Unsung Hero for the 2013 season.
Smith, 27, signed to the Bills’ practice squad on September 10, 2013 after he was waived by the Packers. He appeared in two games for the Bills last season.
