Bills DT Ed Oliver Arrested & Charged With DWI

Bills DT Ed Oliver was arrested in Houston on Saturday night, per the Montgomery County police department

Oliver was charged with driving while impaired and with unlawfully carrying a weapon after a pistol was found in his car.

Another driver called 911 after seeing a white Ford pickup truck driving dangerously in a construction zone and not maintaining its lane.

After police pulled Oliver over, they found an open beer between his legs. Following a field sobriety test, it was determined Oliver was impaired, with police noting that they suspected drug use as well as alcohol.

Oliver was taken to the hospital for a mandatory blood draw and then to the county jail for charges. Police found the gun after searching Oliver’s car but did not find any drugs.

Oliver, 22, was selected by the Bills with the No. 9 overall pick last year out of Houston. He signed a four-year, $19,675,150 rookie contract that includes $12,329,200 signing bonus.

The deal also includes a fifth-year option for Buffalo to make a decision on in 2022.

In 2019, Oliver appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and recorded 43 total tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus rated Oliver as the No. 65 interior defender out of 115 qualifying players.
