Bills Hosting Former Redskins WR Andre Roberts For Visit

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bills are bringing in former Redskins WR Andre Roberts for a visit Thursday night.

  • According to Rapoport, Roberts tentatively has two more visits scheduled.
  • Adam Caplan adds that, as of now, there are 5-6 other teams with interest in Roberts.

This is the first reported interest in Roberts since he became available just a few days ago.

Bills WR Sammy Watkins underwent surgery for a broken bone in his foot, so this appears to be Buffalo looking to add some depth at receiver before the start of OTAs.

Roberts, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract in Arizona before signings a four-year, $16 million contract.

Washington elected to cut him loose on Tuesday in a move that freed up $3 million in available cap space for the Redskins.

In 2015, Roberts appeared in nine games for the Redskins and catching 11 passes for 135 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also contributed 231 kick return yards and a touchdown.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
