Bills Cut 21 Including OLB Manny Lawson & OLB Kroy Biermann

The Buffalo Bills have begun the process of trimming their roster down to 53 players. Here’s the list of roster cuts up to this point:

  12. LB Randell Johnson
  13. WR Dez Lewis
  14. OL Marquis Lucas
  15. CB Sterling Moore
  16. G Cyril Richardson
  17. CB Sammy Seamster
  18. OLB Max Valles
  19. C Fernando Velasco
  20. DT Casey Walker
  21. RB James Wilder Jr.

Biermann, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2008. He’s spent his entire eight-year NFL career in Atlanta and is currently testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

The Bills signed him to a contract close to a month ago.

In 2015, Biermann appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 54 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 79 edge rusher out of 110 qualifying players.

Lawson, 32, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2006. He spent five years in San Francisco before signing on withe Bengals in 2011.

Lawson later joined the Bills in 2013 and has spent the past three years in Buffalo. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $12 million contract that included $4.6 million and stands to make a base salary of $2.35 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Lawson appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and recorded 47 tackles, one sack, an interception and five pass defenses.

Felton, 30, was in the second year of his four-year, $9.2 million contract that included $4 million guaranteed. He was set to make a base salary of $1.55 million in 2016.

Last year, Felton appeared in all 16 games for the Bills and ran for two years one a single carry and caught on pass for 12 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Wilder Jr, 24, signed on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State back in 2014. He spent his first on their practice squad before returining on a future/reserve contract.

However, Wilder Jr wound up being among their final roster cuts again in 2015 before later signing to their practice squad. The Bills signed him to a future/reserve contract back in January.

He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Martin, 26, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of UCF back in May of last year. Unfortunately, Martin lasted just a few weeks in Houston before he was cut loose.

Since then, Martin has played for a number of teams including the Patriots, Texans, 49ers, Dolphins, and Bills before signing on to the Dolphins’ practice squad midseason.

Miami cut Martin loose just a few days later and didn’t bring him back on a future/reserve contract after the season. The Bills signed Martin to a one-year contract back in June.

Martin has yet to appear in an NFL game.
