Bills Waive WR Walter Powell

The Buffalo Bills announced Monday that they’ve waived WR Walt Powell, who was eligible to return from suspension this week.

Powell just finished serving his four-game suspension for testing positive for performance-enhancing substances.

Powell, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cardinals back in May of last year. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason in 2014, but he wound up being claimed off of waivers by the Jets.

The Bills signed Powell to their practice squad during the 2015 season. After a brief stint with the Raiders, Powell returned to Buffalo a month later.

In 2016, Powell appeared in nine games and caught 14 passes for 142 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
