Brandon Jacobs Looks To Have Secured A Roster Spot With The 49ers Despite His Recent Injury

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh mentioned that RB Brandon Jacobs has done enough throughout training camp to secure a spot on the team’s roster, per Matt Maiocco.

The 49ers have a number of options at the running back position, so it seemed like Jacobs could be in danger of being released following his recent knee injury. He does, however, bring an interest element to the team’s rushing attack, when healthy. It seems like that Frank Gore will receive a limited amount of carries this season, once Jacobs is back in the fold.
