Titans Sign LT Taylor Lewan To Five-Year, $80M Extension

Adam Schefter reports that the Titans are signing OT Taylor Lewan to a five-year, $80 million extension that includes $50 million guaranteed.

The Titans have already announced the move:

Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the week that the two parties had made some progress in recent extension talks and it looks like they managed to hammer out a deal that makes him the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history.

Lewan, 26, was taken with the No. 11 overall pick by the Titans back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $11.485 million rookie contract when the Titans picked up his fifth-year option last May.

Lewan will make a base salary of $9.341 million for the 2018 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2017, Lewan appeared in all 16 games for the Titans and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 16 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 25 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
