Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Broncos have claimed WR Andre Holmes off of waivers from the Bills on Wednesday.
Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders suffered what’s believed to be a season-ending Achilles’ injury, so it’s not surprising to see them move quickly to add another receiver.
Holmes, 30, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Hillsdale back in 2011. He lasted just a month in Minnesota before catching on with the Cowboys at the start of the season when he signed to their practice squad.
After a brief stint with the Patriots, Holmes was claimed off waivers by the Raiders and spent four years in Oakland before signing a three-year, $5.15 million contract with the Bills last year.
The Bills just waived Holmes on Tuesday.
In 2018, Holmes has appeared in 12 games for the Bills and caught 12 passes for 157 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
