Broncos Pick Up $12.375M Of Cap Space By Reworking OLB Von Miler Contract

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Denver Broncos converted $16 million of LB Von Miller‘s $18.5 million base salary into a signing bonus, which created $12.375 million of 2018 cap space.

This is a pretty big restructure, but it opens the door for the Broncos to continue to bolster their depth at a free positions.

Miller, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2011. He’s entering the third year of his six-year, $114.5 million contract that includes $70 million guaranteed and he stands to make base salaries of $18.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Miller appeared in all 16 games for the Broncos and recorded 57 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, a recovery and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 edge rusher out of 106 qualifying players.
