Broncos Placing P Marquette King On IR, Promoting P Colby Wadman

According to Ryan O’Halloran, the Broncos are placing P Marquette King on injured reserve Saturday and promoting P Colby Wadman to their active roster.

The Broncos clearly had to make a roster move involving King this weekend, seeing as he was unlikely to play due to a thigh injury.

Mike Klis reports that the Broncos plan to release King from injured reserve when he’s healthy in a week or two.

King, 29, originally signed by the Raiders as an undrafted free agent of Fort Valley State back in 2012. He was in the third year of his five-year, $16.5 million contract that included $7.75 million guaranteed when the Raiders cut him loose during the offseason.

King later signed a three-year, $7 million contract with the Broncos.

In 2018, King appeared in four games for the Broncos and totaled 814 punt yards on 20 attempts and one touchback.
