Broncos Promoting OT Jake Rodgers, Waiving OL Corey Levin

Mike Klis reports that the Broncos are promoting OT Jake Rodgers to their active roster on Saturday and waiving OL Corey Levin

Klis explains that the Broncos didn’t have a swing tackle with Elijah Wilkinson replacing Ja’Wuan James as the starting right tackle, which is why Rodgers has been called up.

Rodgers, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Falcons back in May of 2015. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but later signed on to the Giants’ practice squad at the start of the 2015 season.

Since then, Rodgers has spent time with a few teams including the Panthers, Steelers, Chargers, Texans and Ravens before signing on with the Broncos in April. He was waived a few weeks ago and later signed to Denver’s practice squad.

Rodgers has yet to appear in an NFL game.
