Broncos Placing QB Trevor Siemian On Injured Reserve With Shoulder Injury

Update:

Broncos HC Vance Joseph announced Friday that they’re placing QB Trevor Siemian on injured reserve with a shoulder sprain. The good news, however, is that Siemian won’t require surgery and will instead need just rest and rehab, per Nicki Jhabvala.

Joseph specifically referred to Siemian’s injury as suffered subluxation, or partial dislocation, of his left shoulder.

Ian Rapoport reports that the shoulder sprain suffered by QB Trevor Siemian during Thursday’s game against the Colts is expected to keep him out for the final two weeks of the season.

Rapoport adds that it’s possible the Broncos could turn back to Paxton Lynch, who is expected to return to practice at some point in the near future.

Broncos QB Trevor Siemian was taken to the locker room during the first half of Thursday’s game against the Colts with a left shoulder injury.

The Broncos have already ruled out Siemian for the remainder of the game. Brock Osweiler has replaced Siemian as the Broncos’starting quarterback.

Siemian, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2015. He’s in the third year of his four-year, $2.33 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season.

Entering tonight’s game, Siemian had thrown for 2,218 yards while completing 59.1 percent of his passes to go along with 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 37 quarterback out of 38 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Siemian’s injury as the news is available.
