Broncos Waive WR Solomon Patton, Sign TE Dan Light

The Denver Broncos placed WR Solomon Patton on waivers Friday and signed TE Dan Light to a contract.

Patton, 24, is in the final year of his contract and would have made a base salary of $510,000 for the 2015 season before becoming an exclusive rights free agent in 2016.

Patton signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in May of last year. He was on and off the team’s practice squad for much of the year before briefly joining the Cardinals.

Denver wound up claiming him off of waivers from the Buccaneers back in May.

In 2014, Patton appeared in seven games and caught no passes, but he received one carry for 19 yards while also returning kicks.

Light wound up going undrafted out of Fordham, but tried out for the Broncos on Friday. He had previously tried out for the Chiefs during their rookie minicamp.

Light caught 177 passes for 1,494 yards receiving and nine touchdowns during his four years at Fordham.
