Browns Interviewing Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy Friday

The Cleveland Browns announced Friday that they’re interviewing Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy today for their head-coaching vacancy. 

On Thursday, the Browns met with Mike McCarthy and Bills OC Brian Daboll

The full list of expected interviews for the Browns’ job includes:

  • Patriots OC Josh McDaniels (NFLTR)
  • Ravens OC Greg Roman (NFLTR)
  • 49ers DC Robert Saleh (NFLTR)
  • Mike McCarthy (NFLTR)
  • Vikings OC Kevin Stefanski (NFLTR)
  • Bills OC Brian Daboll (NFLTR)
  • Baylor HC Matt Rhule – Declined (NFLTR)
  • 49ers passing-game coordinator Mike LaFleur (NFLTR)
  • Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy (NFLTR)

Chiefs HC Andy Reid has said he expects Bieniemy to get a head coaching position this offseason. Last year, Bieniemy met with a number of teams for head-coaching jobs including the Jets, Buccaneers, Dolphins and Bengals.

Bieniemy, 50, played 10 seasons in the NFL for the Chargers, Bengals and Eagles before retiring in 1999. His NFL coaching career began in 2006 when he took over as the Vikings’ RBs coach.

The Chiefs hired him for the same position in 2013 and he was later promoted to offensive coordinator last year. 

In 2019, the Chiefs’ offense ranked No. 6 in total yards, No. 5 in total points, No. 23 in rushing yards and No. 5 in passing yards.
