The Cleveland Browns have signed Baker Mayfield to a four-year rookie contract, according to Nate Ulrich.
The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Browns to pick up in 2021. It’s worth mentioning that the fifth-year option is only guaranteed for injury and won’t prevent the two parties from working on a long-term extension.
Mayfield, 23, was taken with the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft by the Browns. According to OverTheCap.com, Mayfield received a $32,816,604 contract that includes a $21,946,620 signing bonus.
During his four-year college career, Mayfield recorded 1,026 completions on 1,497 pass attempts (68.5 percent) for 14,607 yards, 131 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions to go along with 404 rushing attempts for 1,083 yards (2.7 YPC) and 21 touchdowns.
