The Cleveland Browns announced Thursday that they’ve signed first-round TE David Njoku to a four-year rookie contract.
Njoku, 20, was selected with the No. 29 overall pick by the Browns after they elected to trade back into the first round with the Packers. In total, Cleveland gave up the No. 33 pick and a fourth-round pick for the right to select Njoku.
According to OverTheCap.com, Njoku will receive a four-year contract worth $9,525,344, which includes a signing bonus of $5,067,524. The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.
During his two-year college career at Miami, Njoku recorded 64 receptions for 1,060 yards receiving and nine touchdowns in 22 games for the Hurricanes.
