Browns & LB Mychal Kendricks Agree To One-Year Deal Worth Up To $3.5M

Jordan Schultz reports that the Browns and LB Mychal Kendricks have agreed to a one-year contract worth a maximum of $3.5 million. Schultz adds that Kendricks will be a day-one starter for the Browns.

According to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, free agent LB Mychal Kendricks vehemently denied” the report claiming he agreed to a one-year deal with the Browns on Sunday.

No, it’s not accurate. I don’t know who the (bleep) said that. That (bleep) is (bleep). Whoever said that (bleep) is (bleep). That’s all I have to say, man. I’m not really talking to anybody else about it,” said Kendricks, via Tomasson.

  • Jordan Schultz spoke to Kendricks’ agent, Doug Hendrickson, who said that a deal has not been reached with the Browns and contract talks are still ongoing. However, Cleveland is still viewed as the favorite.

Ian Rapoport reports that the Browns are signing free agent LB Mychal Kendricks to a one-year contract on Sunday.

Kendricks also met with the Vikings and Raiders but left both visits without a contract.

Kendricks, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. He was entering the fourth year of his five-year, $29.896 million contract that included $16.4 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $5.85 million for the 2018 season when the Eagles designated him as a post-June 1 release a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Kendricks appeared in 15 games for the Eagles and recorded 77 tackles, two sacks and six pass defenses for the Eagles.
