Browns Waive Veteran WR Kenny Britt

Adam Schefter reports that the Browns are waiving veteran WR Kenny Britt on Friday.

Britt has reportedly been at risk of being cut dating back to October when he and Corey Coleman missed the team’s curfew last week and were sent home before their game against the Titans.

It’s worth mentioning that this is the first roster move from new Browns GM John Dorsey.

Britt, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Titans back in 2009. He spent five years in Tennessee before signing on with the Rams in 2014.

The Browns signed Britt to a four-year, $32.5 million deal back in March.

According to OverTheCap.com, Cleveland will save $3,250,000 in cap space by releasing him, while creating $4,875,000 in dead money.

In 2017, Britt has appeared in nine games and recorded nine receptions for 233 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 103 overall receiver out of 116 qualifiers.
