Sources close to the Buccaneers have indicated to Jenna Laine of ESPN that they believe they will be able to re-sign free agent RB Jacquizz Rodgers, barring any surprises.
Rodgers, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2011. After playing out his rookie deal with the Falcons, the Bears signed him to a contract in 2015.
Chicago elected to bring Rodgers back on a one-year deal back in March of last year, only to cut him loose at the start of the regular season. The Buccaneers signed him to a contract just a week later.
In 2016, Rodgers appeared in 10 Â games and ran for 560 yards on 128 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 98 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
