Buccaneers RB Mike James Out For The Season

Buccaneers HC Greg Schiano announced on Tuesday that RB Mike James will miss the remainder of the season after fracturing his left ankle.

James joins Doug Martin and Jeff Demps to become the third Buccaneers RB to suffer a season ending injury. Brian Leonard and Bobby Rainey will handle the ground game moving forward.

“That’s probably how we’ll have to go,” Schiano said via ESPN, “ham and egging with those two guys and see what we can do.”

Both Leonard and Rainey were able to produce in the absense of James, despite going up against a stout Dolphins defensive line. Rainey scored a touchdown and gained 45 yards on eight carries on Monday night, so it will be interesting to see how the Bucs split the carries this weekend.
